1- HR Team – IEEE SUST

Brief About the HR Team

A core team of the IEEE SUSTech branch is responsible for evaluating and improving the performance of all volunteers.

Team Responsibilities

The HR members are volunteers with the monitoring privileges they :

• follow up and evaluate other team members with the team leaders

• Enact laws and regulations

• Work in cooperation with team leaders to provide training programs and workshops to improve volunteers’ competencies.

2- Project team – IEEE SUST:

Ieee project team has two departments:

i- Robotics Department.

ii – Programming Department.

Brief About Project Team

The team that trains its members and finds ideas, then implements them as projects aimed at serving all sectors using technology, and presents these projects at events.

Team Responsibility

– Finding ideas that can be developed and implemented by the team.

– Evaluating projects submitted by the members and implementing as many as possible.

– Develop plans for the projects for the branch, and conduct feasibility studies for it.

– Distributing projects between members according to their skills.

– Familiarity with the components of the implemented projects and their locations.

Required Skills:

Robotics Department


i- Robotics Department – IEEE SUST

The Robotics Team is where innovation meets motion — a space for creators, coders, and engineers to design intelligent machines and shape the future of automation.

What We Do:

  • Robot Design & Development: We build robots from the ground up, including mobile robots, robotic arms, drones, and autonomous systems.
  • Mechanical & Electrical Integration: We bring hardware to life through wiring, fabrication, and control systems.
  • Coding & Programming: We write the logic that powers our bots — using platforms like Arduino, ROS, and Python.
  • Competitions & Showcases: We participate in robotics challenges and present our work in IEEE SUST events and exhibitions.

Programming Department

ii- Programming Department – IEEE SUST

The Programming Team at IEEE SUST is the engine behind innovation and problem-solving. We are a group of passionate coders, developers, and tech enthusiasts who believe in the power of code to build a better world.

What We Do:

  • Organize Coding Workshops: From beginner to advanced topics (Python, C++, Java, Web Dev, etc.)
  • Web Design: We use tools as WordPress and other tools to design modern and professional websits.
  • Host Competitions & Hackathons: Real-time challenges to test logic, creativity, and teamwork.
  • Develop Internal Tools: We build and maintain digital solutions that support IEEE SUST operations and events.
  • Mentorship & Learning: Helping members grow through peer-to-peer learning, project collaboration, and guided tracks.

3- Program Team:

Ieee program team contains two departments:

i- Even Department.

ii- Planning Department.

Brief About Program Team

The team that plans and implements the events. It plays a big role in the student branch.

Team Responsibilities

– Event planning.

-Implementing plans.

The team is divided into two sections:

Planning section.

Implementation section.

Team members and skills required

1-Plannerss

The ones who develop a detailed plan for all events. It requires skilful planners, a high sense of creativity, and proficiency in critical thinking (thinking outside the box).

2-Implementers

The ones who manage and organize the event, as they also prepare and organize the place, serve VIPs, and deal with guests. It requires commitment, flexibility, problem-solving skills, and teamwork.

3- Podcasters

Part of the implementation section. They conduct the podcast, and they are also the event speakers. It requires the art of speaking publicly, steering a discussion, and knowing how to deal with the audience, as well as a wide knowledge and proficiency in the field of technology.

Program team

i- Event Department – IEEE SUST

The Event Team is the heartbeat of IEEE SUST. We are the organizers, coordinators, and creators behind every successful workshop, seminar, competition, and celebration.

What We Do:

  • Organize Events: From technical workshops to fun socials, we handle every detail — venue, logistics, timing, and coordination.
  • Creative Event Design: We craft engaging themes, agendas, and interactive experiences to keep attendees excited and involved.
  • Collaboration & Outreach: We connect with speakers, sponsors, and other student bodies to build impactful and memorable events.
  • Execution & Follow-Up: From setup to clean-up, from registration to certificates — we make sure every event runs smoothly.

ii– Planning Department IEEE SUST

Planning Department – IEEE SUST Student Branch (Program Team)

The Planning Department is an integral unit within the Program Team of the IEEE SUST Student Branch. Its primary role is to ensure that all events and activities are strategically designed, organized, and executed to meet the goals of IEEE and to serve students effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Planning: Developing detailed plans for technical events, workshops, seminars, competitions, and social activities, ensuring alignment with IEEE objectives and student needs.
  • Scheduling: Coordinating event dates and timelines, avoiding conflicts, and ensuring smooth delivery of multiple activities throughout the semester.
  • Resource Coordination: Working closely with other departments (Logistics, Marketing, Finance, Technical) to identify and allocate the resources needed for successful events.
  • Agenda Development: Crafting comprehensive event agendas that include speakers, sessions, activities, and breaks in a well-structured and engaging manner.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential challenges or risks related to events and proposing solutions or contingency plans.
  • Collaboration: Acting as the backbone of the Program Team by facilitating communication and collaboration among departments to ensure that all event components come together seamlessly.

Role in the Program Team:

Within the Program Team, the Planning Department serves as the strategic hub that lays the foundation for all events. While other departments handle promotion, technical content, or execution on the day, the Planning Department defines the what, when, and how of every event. Its careful planning ensures that events are not only well-organized but also meaningful, impactful, and aligned with IEEE’s mission of advancing technology for humanity.

4- Media Team – IEEE SUST

Brief About Media Team:

It is the team that represents the front of the student branch.

Team Responsibilities:

– Logo design for events.

– Content writing.

– Marketing on social media.

– Photography.

– Design event posters

– Video editing.

Team Members and Skills Required 

1- Content writer

It requires that he be charming in writing to attract the attention of the followers, and that his linguistic level is good in Arabic and English.

2- Designer

It requires a visionary person with a wide imagination and a specific device that enables them to work in the field of design.

3- Video Editor

Requires experience in editing.

4- Photographer

It requires a talented person and a professional in photography who owns an excellent camera and photographic equipment.

5- Marketing and Page Management

Requires skill in managing pages on social media and extensive experience in the field of digital marketing.


5- PR Team – IEEE SUST:

Brief About the Public Relations Team

Responsible for linking the branch with other branches and with local and global communities.

Team Responsibilities

  • Communicate with different companies and institutions to obtain support, provide training, or create a partnership.
  • Communication with student branches.
  • Communicate with international bodies to organize events or obtain support.

Required Skills

It requires experience in writing and high skill in communication, the art of public speaking, dealing with the public, the art of dialogue, as well as creative and critical thinking, and high flexibility.


6- Technical Team – IEEE SUST

Brief About the Technical Team

The team that concerned about all technical work in the branch.

Team Responsibilities

-Adjust sound

-Adjust the lighting

-Presentation.

-Website development.

-Dealing with online platforms that are used in live transmission.

Required Skills

1-Technical support

They must have extensive experience in sound and lighting adjustments in presentations and network troubleshooting.

2-Web Developers:

Experience in website programming (designing and developing them).

The team is interested in writing scientific papers and also converting projects into citationable scientific papers.

Team Responsibilities

– Writing scientific papers.

Team Members and Skills Required

Researcher:

It is required to have experience in the field of scientific research, writing reports, collecting data, analyzing data from different sources, finding information from various sources, critical thinking, and related analysis.

8- Magazine Team

Brief About the Magazine Team

The team is responsible for creating the Branch’s magazine and launching a new issue every sixty days.

Team Responsibilities

– writing topics, and communicating with specialists to write articles.

– magazine design.

-Check the articles’ grammar and authenticity

Team Members and Skills Required

1- Researcher

It requires having skill in scientific research, knowledge of technology fields, report writing skills, data collection and data analysis from various sources, finding data from the Internet, critical thinking, planning, organizing, conducting interviews, and critical analysis.

2- Designer

Having experience in designing and the needed equipment for this process, in addition to having a sense of creativity.

3- Proofreader

Requires high linguistic mastery in Arabic and English.
